TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama College
of Human Environmental Sciences (HES) installed the Delta Xi
Chapter of Eta Sigma Gamma, the national professional health education
honorary, and held an initiation for new chapter members during
the fall semester.
The Eta Sigma Gamma chapter was installed by DeAnna Hillery, Eta
Sigma Gamma national student representative. Dr. Milla Boschung,
interim HES dean, was a keynote speaker during the ceremony.
Three professionals, eight graduate students and three undergraduate
students were initiated; they included:
Professionals -- Roberta Donohue and Delynne Wilcox of Tuscaloosa,
Brian Gordon of Birmingham.
Graduate Students -- Ron Williams of Marksville, La., Joy Pinckney
of Miami, Torhonda Lee of Brundidge, Sara Stewart of Aliceville,
Antonia Mead of Memphis, Tenn., Angela Johnson, of Madison, Fla.,
Linda Moore-Cheatum, of Browns, and Lea Yerby of Kennedy.
Undergraduate Students -- Catherine McKissick of Tuscaloosa, Ellen
Middleton of Severna Park, Md., and Christina Newell of Valdosta,
Ga.
Selection for membership in Eta Sigma Gamma is based on academic
excellence and service. Members of Eta Sigma Gamma demonstrate a
spirit of service and exemplify character through personal integrity
and professional attitude.
