TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The undergraduate accounting program at The
University of Alabama’s Culverhouse
School of Accountancy is ranked 19th nationally in the latest
Public Accounting Report rankings.
Public Accounting Report, which has ranked national accounting
programs for 17 years, placed The University of Alabama among the
elite accounting programs in the nation, including those at the
University of Texas, the University of Michigan, and the University
of Illinois, among others. The only other Southeastern universities
included in the list were the University of Florida and the University
of Georgia.
Public Accounting Report bases its rankings on an annual
survey of accounting professors from accredited programs, distributing
its survey to more than 1,300 heads of accounting programs nationwide.
Dr. Rob Ingram, director of the Culverhouse School of Accountancy,
said the ranking “is a testament to the strength of our faculty,
the caliber of our students and the commitment of the accounting
firms who support us financially and hire our graduates.”
The Culverhouse College of Accountancy has consistently been ranked
among the nation’s top accounting programs.
