TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The Coordinating Council for Student Organizations (CCSO) at The University of Alabama has named the Student Alumni Association (SAA) as the Student Organization of the Month for September.

SAA is an organization on campus that provides support to the National Alumni Association and the Tuscaloosa community through projects, community service and fund raising.

A specific activity SAA is involved in is Kick-Off on the Quad, held on campus before home football games. They participated in this for the Oklahoma, Arkansas and Tennessee games by providing face painting for children. SAA also collected Hats for Hearts and pumpkins and candy for Caring Days Adult Day Care. The next project is a food drive, which SAA is now planning.

A major benefit that SAA provides to students is the Student Alumni Leadership Scholarships which the organization is able to offer due to fund-raising projects held throughout the year.
