TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama College of Engineering and College of Continuing Studies will host the 2003 Alabama Mining Institute on Sept. 24-25 at the Four Points Hotel near The University of Alabama campus.

Registration cost is $110 for members of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) and $135 for non-members. Early registration is encouraged since attendance is limited.

Registered professional engineers can satisfy their annual professional development hours by attending the sessions. Speakers will include experts from Alabama’s industries as well as federal regulatory agencies that deal with mining concerns.
