TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama Outdoor Recreation
program has partnered with Alabama Outdoors to host their first
Adventure Race on Saturday, March 13.
Race check-in starts at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9:30 a.m.
at Rock Quarry boat launch on Lake Tuscaloosa.
The race will consist of approximately three miles of canoeing,
three miles of running, and five miles of mountain biking.
The race is open to members of the public age 16 and older. Participants
under the age of 19 must have a signed permission form from a parent
or guardian.
Two person teams will compete in three categories -- men’s,
women’s and co-ed divisions. Prizes from Alabama Outdoors
will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division and
everyone who completes the race will receive a race T-shirt.
Team entry fees are $40 if teams register before March 8, and
$50 for teams signing up after March 8 until the day of the race.
An award ceremony will take place on the model airplane field beside
Sokol Park immediately following the race.
Race organizers welcome those persons not participating in the
race to get involved by volunteering the day of the race.
