UA NPHC Presents Greek Convocation

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The National Pan-Hellenic Council, the coordinating council for The University of Alabama’s six historically black fraternities and sororities, will host a Greek Convocation on Jan. 14.

Students who are interested in being considered for membership in any of the NPHC organizations this spring are required by the Office of the Dean of Students to attend the convocation at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, in Ferguson Theatre. To be considered for membership, a student must have at least 12 hours of college credit and a minimum grade point average of 2.0. The convocation will provide information about membership intake, rules and regulations, and hazing. Each NPHC fraternity and sorority will offer information about their individual organization. NPHC currently includes four sororities – Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho and Zeta Phi Beta – and two fraternities – Omega Psi Phi and Phi Beta Sigma.

For more information, contact the Dean of Students’ Office at 205/348-6114.
