TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- University of Alabama Libraries will welcome acclaimed author
Dr. Stanley L. Brodsky for a book talk and signing of his most recent book, “Coping
With Cross Examination and Other Pathways to Effective Testimony,” on Thursday,
Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. on the second floor of Gorgas Library.
Brodsky, a professor of psychology at UA, is the author and editor of 11 books and
some 200 articles. He coordinates the psychology-law concentration for doctoral students
at UA. Most of his publications relate to psychology and its application to legal
issues.
Brodsky’s books “Testifying in Court” and “The Expert Expert
Witness” were published by the American Psychological Association. He was the
1996 recipient of the Distinguished Contribution Award for Outstanding Achievement
in Forensic Psychology from the American Academy of Forensic Psychology.
He maintains an independent practice in forensic and clinical psychology, and in
trial consultation. He is also a frequent leader of workshops on court testimony,
and is considered by some observers to be the nation’s premier expert on court
testimony.
