TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Leading Latin America experts will participate in an upcoming
symposium focusing on that regions’ political challenges during an Oct. 13 event
to be held on The University of Alabama campus.
The 2004 Fall Latin American Symposium will be from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in UA’s
Alabama Institute for Manufacturing Excellence, room 110. The program, sponsored by
UA’s College of Arts and Sciences and UA’s Program in Latin American and
Hispanic Studies, features:
Dr. Harvey Kline, UA, “What to Expect in Columbia”
Dr. Russell Ramsey, Norwich University, “New Expectations for Latin American
Armed Forces”
Dr. Jorge Ortiz Sotelo, Peruvian Institute for Political and Strategic Studies, “Peru
and Its Neighbors: What to Expect” and
Dr. Paul Clark, retired from Joint Forces Staff College, “Expectations for
Democracy: Venezuela.”

The College of Arts and Sciences is the University’s
