Announcement from UA President Robert E. Witt:

The University of Alabama has earned reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). SACS made the announcement at its annual meeting in Atlanta yesterday. The University’s accreditation now runs through 2015.

Thank you to the many faculty, staff, and students of the University who contributed to the reaffirmation process that began in 2003. Special thanks go to the members of the UA-SACS Leadership Team, Compliance Certification Team, and Quality Enhancement Plan Team for their tireless efforts on behalf of the University.

We are a much stronger university because of our work on reaffirmation, and one of the most valuable results of that effort is The University of Alabama Online Profile System (UA-OPS). UA-OPS will continue to serve us well as a regularly updated management tool and source of information on teaching credentials, courses, and unit profiles focused on outcomes assessment and improvement.
