TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama’s Museum of Natural History and The Hoole Special Collections Library will host the 9th annual John Caldwell Calhoun Sanders Lecture Series Saturday, March 19 at 4 Stadium Drive, Alston Hall, room 30, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

This annual lecture and memorial service is dedicated to the memory of University of Alabama students who served in the armed forces of the Confederate States of America. These lectures range from biographical sketches and wartime experiences to unit histories and accounts of battles and skirmishes involving some 900 University alumni and its Corps of Cadets.

The general focus of this year’s program is “The Civil War Ends in Lower Alabama.”

This year’s speakers are:

  • Edwin Combs, department of history, University of Alabama
  • Robert Bradley, The Alabama Department of Archives and History

Lunch will be hosted, free of charge, by the advisory board of the Sanders Memorial Endowment Fund.
