TUSCALOOSA,
Ala. – Project R.O.S.E. (Recycled
Oil Saves Energy), the volunteer motor oil recycling program for
the state of Alabama, will hold its eighth annual “Run for
the Roses” 5K race at The University of Alabama on Feb. 26.
The race begins at 8:30 a.m. and is open to the public. It will
be followed by the Rosebud one-mile fun run, an awards ceremony
and door prizes. Additionally, a complimentary light breakfast
will be provided.
The cost is $12 before Feb. 23 and $15 on the day of the race.
Race day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the outdoor pool
facility parking lot on UA’s campus (corner of Campus Drive
and Fifth Avenue East). This year’s race will use the certified
Run for Kid’s Sake 5K Course and again be part of the Tuscaloosa
Track Club Grand Prix of West Alabama.
The one-mile fun run is $5 and will take place on UA’s recreational
fields. The top three times will receive certificates.

Proceeds from the race will help Project R.O.S.E. increase awareness
and provide collection tanks for recycling used motor oil in Alabama.
