The 2004-2005 academic year marks the 80th anniversary of
the University Women’s Club Isabella Hummel Graham Scholarship.
This year’s UA scholarship recipients are (left-right): Kandice
Pickett, Chantell Smith, Kimberly Berry, all of Tuscaloosa,
Margaret Folsom of Kennesaw, Ga., and Melissa Cates of Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University Women’s Club recently
awarded Isabella Hummel Graham Scholarships to five University
of Alabama students.
The Isabella Hummel Graham Scholarship recipients are:
- Kimberly Berry of Tuscaloosa, a senior majoring
in social work
- Melissa Cates of Tuscaloosa, a junior majoring
in nursing
- Margaret Folsom of Kennesaw, Ga., a graduate
student in school psychology
- Kandice Pickett of Tuscaloosa, a law student
- Chantell Smith of Tuscaloosa, a senior majoring
in secondary education/Spanish
Scholarship applications for the award are distributed in the
fall semester to UA women students. The students may be of sophomore
standing through graduate school, and must carry a grade point
average of 3.0 or higher.
Some $5,000 will be awarded to this year’s five scholarship
recipients.
The Graham Scholarship has assisted more than 200 women since
its inception 80 years ago. Scholarships are awarded on the basis
of merit and need.
