TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Ann Patton Payne of Knoxville, Tenn.,
has been named vice president of Region III for The University
of Alabama National Alumni Association.
Payne, a 1963 graduate of UA with a degree in education, currently
works as a parent adviser for the Tennessee Parent Services and
as a mediator for the Tennessee State Department of Education.
Over the years, she has remained involve with UA Alumni Association
through student recruitment. Payne is also a member of Delta Kappa
Gamma, The Rotary Club, The Scottish Society of Knoxville, and
The Knights Templar.
Payne and her husband, Lanny, have two sons: Charles, 35, and
David, 33, both UA graduates.
The National Alumni Association is
divided into 16 districts within Alabama and six regions outside
the state. Each is represented by a vice president who serves on
the NAA Executive Committee and makes decisions concerning the
organization and funding of a variety of programs and events to
benefit alumni, students and the University. The National Alumni
Association supports UA through the combined efforts of its volunteer
leadership, the alumni staff and more than 28,000 active members.
