UA Recreation Center Hosting Summer Activities

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama Student Recreation Center will be hosting two sessions of the Crimson Campers 2005 day camp May 30-June 24 and July11-29.

Crimson Campers is designed to allow children to discover new skills while experiencing positive group interaction in a safe and fun environment. Crimson Campers enrolls approximately 30 campers age 6-13 (entering first grade-entering seventh grade) in each session.

The day camp places an emphasis on teamwork, participation and recreation. Through arts and crafts, sports, games and field trips, the children are given the opportunity to develop leadership skills, experience different activities, and create lasting friendships. The Crimson Camper staff is composed of qualified and well trained individuals.

The UA Recreation Center will also be sponsoring four sessions of Bama Swim School this summer from June 6-Aug. 4. For more information on swim lessons visit http://urec.sa.ua.edu or call 205/348-5143.

Both events are currently accepting applications and deposits in the Student Recreation Center offices. Spaces are limited and submitting a deposit is the only way to ensure a child’s reservation. For more information, contact Darrell Hargreaves at 205/348-5143 or dhargrea@sa.ua.edu.
