UA Presents Provocative Sculptural Exhibit ‘Scattered Man’

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Sarah Moody Gallery of Art will host the sculptural exhibit “Scattered Man and related works” by North Carolina artist Cort Savage, Dec. 1-Jan. 15, in 103 Garland Hall. Savage will lecture on his artwork in 205 Smith Hall Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.

“Scattered Man reduces the physical human being to an abstract form,” Savage said.

Savage is an associate professor in the department of art at Davidson College, Davidson, N.C. He has been awarded North Carolina’s Artist Fellowship in Sculpture and Southern Arts Federation/National Endowment for the Arts Regional Fellowship Award in Sculpture.

Funding support for the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art comes from the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Alabama. The College of Arts and Sciences is the University’s largest division and the largest public liberal arts college in the state. Students from the college have won numerous national awards including Rhodes Scholarships, Goldwater Scholarships and memberships on the “USA Today” Academic All American Team.
