TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Dr. David Wolf has been named assistant vice
president for campaigns at The University of Alabama. The newly
created position in the Office of University Advancement will provide
leadership and direction in the area of university-wide major gift
campaign initiatives. Wolf currently serves as both director of
university leadership gifts and director of athletic development
at UA.
UA is currently in the developmental phase of a comprehensive
fundraising initiative focusing on student scholarship needs. This
past year, the Office of University Advancement announced the largest
single year of giving to the university in the amount of over $100
million in pledged and received gifts. The Office of University
Advancement oversees UA’s fund-raising and development programs,
alumni affairs, and public relations and marketing.
Dr. Pam Parker, associate vice president for development, announced
the appointment effective Nov. 15.
“David brings to our development team great experience and
enthusiasm as we enter a new era of philanthropy benefiting our
university,” Parker said. “Together with newly appointed
Vice President for Advancement Tom Martz, our entire advancement
family is benefiting from UA President Witt’s vision of student-centered
excellence and opportunity.”
Wolf will work in collaboration with each of the University’s
colleges, schools and departments in coordinating and directing
campaign-related fundraising programs. Wolf’s work in the
department of athletics helped direct the successful Crimson
Tradition Fund capital campaign benefiting student athletes
and athletic facilities. To date the Crimson Tradition Fund has
raised more than $58 million, exceeding its original goal of $50
million.
Wolf holds a bachelor of arts in communication and a master of
arts in political science from the University of Texas at Arlington,
and a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of North Texas.
