TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Television producers in the Center for Public Television and Radio in the College of Communication and Information Sciences at The University of Alabama are going to round two of their search for a co-host of an original reality series focusing on the fashion issues of everyday people.

The producers received videotapes from all over the country and have narrowed the search to 11 people. The semifinalists, who are from Tuscaloosa, Northport, Birmingham, New York City, Houston and Atlanta, will be in Tuscaloosa for the second round of auditions on Sunday, Oct. 30. They will have to complete tasks related to fashion, but they will not know specifics beforehand. Finalists will be chosen from this group and announced next week.

The new series is expected to debut as part of UA’s plan to produce original programming for Channel 23, its full power, commercial station. Channel 23 will feature sports, entertainment, news and informational programming emanating from UA’s campus in Tuscaloosa, according to officials. UA acquired Channel 23 in 2004, joining an elite group of three public universities owning commercial television stations.
