U.S. Rep. Artur G. Davis recently spoke to a group of University of Alabama students enrolled in a New College seminar course that examined the current and future state of democracy in the United States and around the world. Davis, a Democrat who represents Alabama's 7th Congressional District, spoke to the class about the importance of becoming involved in politics; he also discussed important political issues including recent political scandals, the Supreme Court nomination of Samuel Alito, and the upcomingelections. Congressman Davis visited the class at the invitation of Dr. Fran Oneal of UA's Honors College who taught the seminar.
