UA Women’s Resource Center to Sponsor Brown Bag Series

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center and the women’s studies department are presenting the final Brown Bag Series of the semester on Dec. 6 at 12:30 p.m. in 107 Manly Hall.

Guest speaker Dr. Natalie Adams of the UA department of educational leadership, policy and technology studies will be presenting her research “Refining the Term ‘Girl.’”

Adams received her doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Louisiana State University and she is the author of the popular book “Cheerleader!: An American Icon” and most recently of “Geographies of Girlhood: Identity In-Between.” She is interested in middle level education, feminist theory and gender issues, and social foundations of education.

This event is part of the ongoing Brown Bag Lecture Series at UA. Programs typically last an hour and participants are welcome to bring their lunch and a friend.
