UA Women's Resource Center Book Club to Discuss Memoir

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The Everywoman Book Club, sponsored by the Women’s Resource Center at The University of Alabama, will meet on Thursday, July 26 at noon at The Globe Restaurant to discuss “Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia” by Elizabeth Gilbert.

All members of the community and campus are welcome to attend. The Globe Restaurant is located in historic downtown Northport.

A New York Times Notable Book, “Eat, Pray, Love” is an insightful and witty memoir that follows the journey of the author as she leaves behind a marriage and successful career in America to explore love, life and spirituality, and the many lessons she learns along the way. The Los Angeles Times describes it as, “A meditation on love in its many forms -- love of food, language, humanity, God, and the most meaningful for Gilbert, love of self.”

Gilbert was a journalist at GQ for five years where she received three National Magazine Award nominations for her feature writing. Her other books include "Stern Men,” “The Last American Man,” and the story collection “Pilgrims.”
