TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama department of theatre and dance presents the Dance Alabama! Spring Concert April 4 – 7 in the Morgan Auditorium on Colonial Drive in the UA Theatre District.
Going against the traditional Dance Alabama! show, this spring concert features props. Student dancers bop between chairs and boogie around barstools in these new student-choreographed works showcasing a wide range of dance styles.
Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and feature a Dance Alabama! Kids performance Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for UA faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $8 for students. Call the box office for special discount rates for Dance Alabama! Kids. Tickets can be purchased at the box office in Rowand-Johnson Hall Monday - Friday, noon – 5 p.m., or by calling 205/348-3400.
The department of theatre and dance is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, the University’s largest division and the largest liberal arts college in the state. Students from the College have won numerous national awards including Rhodes Scholarships, Goldwater Scholarships and memberships on the “USA Today” Academic All American Team.
