TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama National Alumni Association recently named the recipients of the 2007 Distinguished Alumni Awards, 2007 Alumni Student Awards and 2007 Outstanding Senior Awards.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards acknowledge and honor an alumna and alumnus of UA for their contributions to the University and the NAA. Selection for the award is based on loyalty and service to the University and NAA, character and personal life, professional achievement or success in a chosen endeavor and community service on a local, state or national level.

The 2007 Distinguished Alumna Award winner is Segail Irwin Friedman and the 2007 Distinguished Alumnus Award winner is Robert H. Shaw Jr., both of Tuscaloosa.

The NAA also recognizes and honors students in the senior class. The students have excelled in academics and extracurricular activities, shown strength of character and maturity, and displayed exceptional hospitality toward guests and friends of the University.

The recipients of the 2007 Alumni Student Award are Jennifer L. Phillips of Vestavia Hills and Maroun Ghossein of Birmingham (35226).

The 2007 Alumni Outstanding Senior Award winners are: Barbara A. Blaylock of Huntsville, Katie Boyd of Pelham, Bryan Casey Coley of Huntsville, Perry Daniel Guevara of Birmingham (35223), Aundrea Lollar of Northport, Jason Steele Prater of Tuscaloosa, Joseph Sykora of Daphne, Kristen Trotter of Arab, Kevin S.
