UA Wheelchair Basketball Teams Hold Season-Opening Tournament

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Teams will play their first games of the season in a tournament at UA Friday-Saturday, Oct. 26-27.

On Friday, Oct. 26 the women’s team will take on Memphis at 6:30 p.m. and the men’s team will play Lakeshore at 8 p.m. All games will be held in the UA Student Recreation Center.

The Saturday game schedule is as follows:

9 a.m. Memphis vs. Lakeshore
11 a.m. New Orleans vs. Alabama Men
1 p.m. Alabama Women vs. Lakeshore
3 p.m. New Orleans vs. Memphis
5 p.m. New Orleans vs. Alabama Women
7 p.m. Alabama Men vs. Memphis

The 2007-2008 UA Women’s Team includes Meredith Jett, Karla Tritten, Desiree Miller, Jean Ann Helm, Christina Davidson, Erica Moyers, Katie Harnock, Alana Nichols, Mary Allison Milford, Stephanie Wheeler, Kelsey Yost, Anna Kleen, Claire Buchanan and Kimmie Champion.

The 2007-2008 UA Men’s Team includes Zach Bobowski, Zach Haney, Joon Reid, Ed Barnard, Blake Loftin, Nick Ford, Jereme Wilroy, Ford Burttram, Master Hinkle, Brad Baugh and Justin Rongey.

The UA and West Alabama communities are encouraged to come out to the tournament and support the Crimson Tide!
