University of Alabama nears fundraising goal

The University of Alabama’s $500 million capital campaign reached 80 percent of its goal through the end of October, school officials announced Wednesday. About $428 million has been donated to the Our Students, Our Future campaign, set to end in June 2009. UA hopes to designate $250 million scholarships. So far, $175 million of that amount has been raised, with $75 million already supporting 265 student scholarships, according to a UA news release…
